Job Description: In support of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Geospatial Proposal, this position will provide overall technical vision and system architecture by supporting application of sound software engineering principles and life cycle methodologies to programs/projects. The Systems Architect will be actively involved in systems architecture design, application software design, database process design and the directing of coding development including the supervision of design and code reviews. Tasks that may be assigned to this position may include, but not limited to:
Duties include:

Has broad technical knowledge of GIS applications and related information technologies

Expertise in areas such as web-based software applications, service-oriented architectures, data warehousing, spatial analysis and modeling

Proficient in COTS GIS software products, software/database design methodologies, web/desktop/server software development languages, and geospatial data formats

Apply knowledge of enterprise IT needs to design improved processes, generate and capture user requirements and ensures solutions adhere to DHS Enterprise Architecture models, standards, and requirements

Serve as an advisor and propose changes to existing architectures to meet emerging DHS requirements, affect efficiencies in workflows, or improve outcomes
Requirements:

Requires a MA/MS with 4+ years' of specialized experience, BA/BS with 6+ years' of specialized experience, or 10+ years' of experience in lieu of a degree
